Chart FX for COM Licensing
Chart FX for COM is licensed on both a per server (Internet) and per developer (Client
Server) basis depending on the component being used.
Client Server Components
Redistribution Licensing Considerations
You have a royalty-free right to distribute Chart FX "Redistributable Code" if the
following conditions are met:
- (a) You distribute the "run time" modules only in conjunction with the
executable files that make use of them as a part of your software product;
- (b) You do not redistribute or generate License files (.LIC or .LPK files or Registry
entries) as part of your software product(s);
- (c) You do not permit further redistribution of the "run-time modules"
by your end users customers;
- (d) You do not expose, document or make public the software API (Application Programming
Interface);
- (e) Your software product(s) must add significant and primary functionality to Chart
FX "Redistributable Code";
- (f) Your software product main and primary functionality must not be creating and
displaying charts;
- (g) You redistribute only the software designated as redistributable code;
- (h) You do not use the Software FX, Inc. name, logo or trademark to market your
software product;
- (i) You or your end users do not use the "Redistributable Code" or any
other SOFTWARE component for development purposes;
- (j) You must not permit further redistribution of ChartFX "run-time modules"
by your end-users cutomers; and
- (k) You agree to indemnify, hold harmless, and defend Software FX, Inc. and its
suppliers from and against any and all claims or lawsuits including attorney's
fees, that arise or result from the use or distribution of your software product.

Internet Components
Single Production Server License
This license must be purchased whenever the customer exposes a server to internal
or external users. Users are defined as any individual or process who access charts
for purposes other than develop code. If the server is to be used for both, development
and production, then this is the license to purchase. View

Test/Development Server License
This license can be used only when the customer is using the product for development
purposes only. Software FX created this licensing scheme to promote the use of its
product among consultants and developers who are not going to use the product for
their own use, but to create solutions for other companies. When the solution is
ready to be deployed then it must be accompanied by its production license(s). Normally,
organizations purchase both the production and the test development server because
these are usually different machines and therefore each one must be properly licensed

Redistribution Licensing Considerations
The Chart FX for COM Client side components are royalty-free for distribution provided
that you do not redistribute the LIC files required to instantiate them on a browser;
this LIC file must always remain on your server. This means you will not have to
pay for client side components that are redistributed from your site. However, you
may not include the client-side components as part as another software tool or component
without the express written consent of Software FX, Inc. and under no circumstances
the LIC file may be redistributed without signing an OEM agreement.
OEM Integration
If you need to integrate Chart FX for COM as part of your application, you need
to provide a Production Server License per each production server in which Chart
FX is installed.
